WHAT YOU SHOULD LOOK OUT FOR WHEN BUYING LAND IN EPE

One of the most sought after assets in Lagos is Land, but while trying to own one, there are certain things you should look out for because Land acquisition is tricky and you can't afford to fall a victim.

The first thing to look out for in a landed property is the *TITLE*. Some of the approved titles in Lagos are *Certificate of occupancy (C of O)*, *Governor's Consent*, *Gazette*, and *Excision*.

Then you find out at the Lands Bureau if the property is free from any known Government Acquisition or encumbrances.

Another thing to look out for is the Freedom from the *Omo-Onile*.

These are the indigenes from that community who sometimes demand extra monies once development begins on site. So you have to be sure there won't be any direct interface with Omo-Oniles.

Another notable thing to look out for in land acquisition is the *LOCATION*.

It is better to buy land in an area that is fast attracting development as it will help you determine what the value of the land will be in the future.

The list is quite endless.
